Block Facebook in Chrome
- 1
Add Flowly to Chrome
Install the free extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- 2
Turn Facebook on
facebook.com is in Flowly's ready list of sites. Make sure it is ticked in settings.
- 3
Start focus or set a schedule
Start a 25, 45 or 60 minute session from the toolbar, or choose focus hours that repeat every day.
- 4
Meet the pause
When you open Facebook during focus, Flowly asks why. Allow 5 minutes if you really need it, or go back to work.
Why Facebook is hard to close
Facebook mixes useful things with endless ones. A message from a friend, an event, a question in a group, and right below it a feed that never ends. You open it for the first and stay for the second.
Blocking the whole site during work removes that trap. Groups, events and messages are still there after your focus hours.
Keep Facebook for breaks
You don't have to quit Facebook to stop losing time on it. Set focus hours, for example 9:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, and block websites on a schedule. Outside those hours Facebook works as usual.
